I am thinking that if the heli Skiing flights originate from Ogden airport you will still have the helicopters flying over you in Eden. You might want to consider this before placing your vote if this is your issue.

Lisa, why would they have to fly over Eden? They could fly along the ridge lines without going over the Valley at all.

If Diamond Peak Heli skiing needs to have a base of operations in the valley, why not at Wolf Creek parking lot, maybe in the golf course. I'm sure the local residents won't mind.

Diamond Peaks has been flying over over the Valley and Eden for twenty years. They are in compliance with all FAA regulations and are a very safe operation. They have never bothered me.

I agree with the idea of Wolf Creek or Wolf Mountain; it would be closer to PM. I am a Wolf Creek Resident and see that as the ideal for all. After all, how many days is it really.....support the Valley Business.

I would not speak so fast. Has their "heliport" at Red Moose lodge received FAA approval? And they certainly are not allowed to land on the road to refuel.

DP would be wise to find a better alternative for next season rather than rely on the arrogance of Wolf Creek, County Commissioners and others. The FAA holds the keys and are just a phone call or letter away.

I ski, like DP, and like helicopters, but don't feel flying out of the Red Moose is their best choice.

You can be sure many of us are going to demand a close and completed examination of the FAA rules and permits. I wonder how our wonderful County Commissioners would react if they put a helicopter pad next to their homes? I wonder if they would say
"well, they have to make a living?"

Seems like the rock crushing place issue but without the dust.

Yep somebody has always got to complain about something....

I honestly dont see what the problem is here, Ive lived here for what seems like forever and have never had a problem with helicopter noise, they take off and land clear back off the main road a half mile or so from any houses, and fly so rarely that it shouldnt be a problem, and on top of that my kids think its cool to watch it fly around

Killswitch, maybe there are those that live in the Valley that think it is a big deal. Don't they deserve some consideration? Many view this as their home and expect to enjoy it for their own reasons. I would love to see a Valley wide vote on the subject. Who do you think would win?

Arf,

I was over that Eden Liquor Agency stocking up on my milk bones the other day, while a ship flew in and out of the Red Moose lodge LZ. The noise was quite significant inside the building. Keep in mind we have a school, several residences and businesses in that area. I am all for helicopter skiing being staged in the Valley, however siteing the LZ should be a planned process, and mitigating impacts such as noise should be considered in the process. In conclusion, I believe that a better location for the LZ could be found so helicopter skiing can be staged with out disrupting others in the Valley. Two cents please.

I think you would be surprised, Ive actually talked to a lot of people that live up here about this issue and 90% of them dont really care, so of course you will get more negative people posting on here than people who dont care one way or the other, thats the way it is with everything, the ones that have a problem with something always make their voice heard, while the ones that dont care dont find a need to speak out about it

Arf!

Excellent, we could put the helicopter LZ in Waaaaaaambulance’s back yard. I’m sure his neighbors and the county commission would not mind. Besides, Waaaaaaambulance’s scientific poll of the valley indicated that 90% of valley residents don’t care about helicopter noise. Just guessing, but maybe the helicopters only fly over 10% of living rooms in the valley. I would volunteer my own back yard, but you have to watch where you step, I’m a dog you know. Waaaaaaambulance, thanks for stepping up…address please?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
