STD Ex Editorial on HB 201

Be sure to read today's Standard Examiner editorial about
the demise of HB 201 regarding the Powder Mountain
incorporation. The editorial is concise and instructive on how
important legislation can be sidetracked and defeated by
special interest groups in the legislature.

Gage Froerer and Allan Christensen did a terrific job getting
this bill through the House and Senate committees, but were
stymied by the gamesmanship so often seen in our legislature.

One of the most disappointing aspects of this HB 201 failure, is the almost total lack of support from our Weber County Commissioners. They should have been out there front and center fighting for this legislation.

Sadly, this seems to be the norm for the Weber County Commissioners who have a long track record of not supporting anything unless it is a developer or builder.
