Interest in Purchasing Powder Mountain by California Company Confirmed in This Morning's Standard Examiner

The story we broke on February 16, 2012, is discussed in this morning's Standard Examiner article written by Scott Schwebke:

Unorthodox California company thinking of buying Powder Mountain

From the article,
Patrick Lundin, marketing manager for Powder Mountain, identified the company as Summit Series, based in Malibu.
“They are looking at the mountain and doing their due diligence,” Lundin said Tuesday. “There will be an official press release once the deal is done.”
When asked by the Standard-Examiner if Powder Mountain is available for purchase, Lundin remarked that “everything is for sale.”
Rudi also highlights the article in his post this morning over at the Weber County Forum.

Our readers will also remember this breaking February 22 story:

BREAKING: Summit Series trying to raise $40 million to purchase Powder Mountain

It seems that this deal may be near.  Who will be the first to comment?

Well they are getting more than they bargain for with President and CEO Greer and a new announcement today in the shuttle bus line where he announced Powder Mountains "no azzhole policy" to a crowd of at least 100....perhaps his first order of business in the morning should be to fire himself for breaking that policy because he was the biggest one there...certainly doesn't mesh with the "leaders and inspiration" motto of the potential buyers....the whole scene was quite hilarious, childish and a bit narrcasitic to watch...if only I had my camera on...would have made the ski patroller that went viral at Snow Basin look like Mary Poppins....Powder on....

signs of things to come perhaps...black helicopters and a line of matching black suburbans headed PM road late yesterday afternoon....

I was there to witness Greer in action. He brings new meaning to the word azzhole. After his display on friday I can see why longtime employees are leaving PM.I can just imagine what it must be like to for for this dickhead.

Let's not jump the gun here. Give these folks a chance to outline what their plans are. It may be better than what we have now.
