Dear Ogden Canyon Waterline Stakeholders,
Installation of the 24-inch main waterline has been
completed. There is still some work to do in order to get the main
line in service and restore individual connections, but the 24-inch line
is completely installed. Whitaker Construction
will be chlorinating and testing the Phase 4 pipe over the next few
days, and get it ready to be back in service on Monday. As such, there will be a few water shutoffs and hard closures of traffic over the next week. They are as follows:
o
This shutoff will affect residences east of The Hermitage subdivision. The contractor will begin draining the line at 5:00pm in order to fully reconnect the new 24-inch main line and put it back into service. Water should be
restored by 5:00am on Tuesday morning.
·
Tuesday, June 25, 2013 – Roaming Water Shutoffs
o
Beginning at 7:00am on Tuesday, June 25, through 7:00am on Thursday, June 27,
there will be roaming water shutoffs for all the residents located
within the fourth phase of construction. These shutoffs will last for a
maximum
of 6 hours, and there will only be one shutoff per connection. The
purpose of these shutoffs is to fully restore the water service
connections that are currently on temporary water.
·
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights, June 24-26 – Canyon Closed to Through Traffic
o
SR-39 in Ogden Canyon will be closed to all
through traffic on these nights in order to connect each of the 8-inch
water services that extend across the roadway. The exact locations of
each closure depend upon the amount of work
completed each night. We will provide more information before each
closure to explain the location in order to help Canyon residents living
in the fourth phase of construction determine the proper route of
travel.
Looking Ahead:
At the end of next week, the contractor will move
back down to the first phase to begin removing and replacing the
temporary asphalt. We will send out a notice a few days before this
happens detailing the process and explaining the anticipated
timeline for completion.
We want to thank everyone for your patience during
this project. We understand that this has been an inconvenience to a
lot of people, and we are grateful for everyone’s help in ensuring the
project’s successful completion.
Best regards,
HORROCKS ENGINEERS
