Ogden Valley Alert:

An Ogden Valley resident reported that a man wearing a Dish Network shirt was contacting residents to gain access to their homes in the Eden area. He was driving an older gold colored Dodge Durango. He had no ID, no photo ID, and no business cards. It is possible he is legitimate, but the opposite could be true as well. If you are approached, you may want to see identification or call the Sheriff.

Blogmeister Update on a similar note from the Weber County Sheriff's Office:

Be aware of subjects selling asphalt services.  They may use the company name Pro Cote Asphalt.  This is an out of state group traveling through the state.  If they show up call WCSO so we can contact them and do general field checks.  One member of the group may have an out of state warrant and we would like to talk to him.

Larry, this isn't open for your personal opinion. It WAS a scam. We called Dish and they verified it.

Maher, you are an idiot. The blog is an opinion based media outlet. You are asking others to accept YOUR opinion about a possible scam that should be left for the police to determine. It appears to me that the alert was intended to make Valley residents aware of this issue and not rush to accuse anyone.

Good slap down for Maher, I wonder if she is out with her posse to run down and hang the alleged perp.

Cindy,

What is your point. Thanks to Larry for the heads up. What a great way to get the word out valley wide for issues that could effect valley residents.

There have been a string of home burglaries in Eden in recent months so think of the heads up as a neighborhood watch on steroids.

Get a life, Ms. Maher!

Where was personal opinion used. I read all "facts" based on a resident report. Then it directs readers to request identification or call the Sheriff.

The post does state, "It is possible he is legitimate, but the opposite could be true as well."

Is that the "personal opinion" you speak of. It sounds rather fair and balanced to me.

Thanks to the Forum for sending us the timely alert.

Uh, it was me who alerted Larry to post this on the blog you morons. This supposed Dish rep came to our house and a few more in our neighborhood. Just love how none of you have the courage to say who you really are.

We were just wondering if you have caught and executed the person yet.
