Valley residents, just a heads up, the Weber County Commission has scheduled a hearing on the approval request for the Rock Crushing/Cement Plant for August 7th at 6 PM. It was in the Standard Examiner, Top Of Utah section under Agendas today.
This means we all need to get the word out again to our residents to write to the Weber County Commissioners (not the Ogden Valley Planning Commission) to express our opposition, and the sooner the better. See below for communication information.
Make sure you follow the format below to insure your e-mail's, written letters, or phone calls are not rejected. Also have them include the Zoning petition numbers of ZP 05-07 and ZP 06-07 in the e-mail's and letters.

OGDEN VALLEY MANUFACTURING ZONE MV-2 ORDINANCE
Ogden Valley Residents Opposition To Rock Crusher / Cement Plant Petition - deadline August 3, 2007
I don't see the problem with the zoning changes. It would decrease traffic in the canyon and save us valley residence a lot of money. Everyone needs the materials that will be made available.
ReplyDeleteSadly, truck traffic will more than likely increase as raw materials are brought up the canyon daily to be processed at the plant.
ReplyDeleteNO ONE FROM OGDEN IS GOING TO COME ALL THE WAY UP THE CANYON TO BRING THERE MATERIAL TO THE PLANT TO BE RECYCLED WHEN THEY HAVE PLENTY OF RECYCLE YARDS IN OGDEN. THERE WILL ACTUALLY BE LESS TRUCK TRAFFIC IN THE CANYON. ALL THE TRUCKS THAT ARE CURRENTLY HAULING FROM OGDEN TO THE LOCAL JOB SITES WILL BE ABLE TO STAY IN THE VALLEY RATHER THAN MAKE THE TRIP DOWN THE CANYON.
ReplyDeleteI can just picture all these gravel trucks and cement trucks parked in the Eden area ovenight, just what we need. I don't know why we just don't bring a Costco or Wal Mart up here either. I have a better idea, let's put a gasoline cracking plant up her too so we won't have to go so far for our gasoline!
ReplyDeleteAll trucks that wish to come to Ogden Valley should be using Trappers Loop. It is not safe for those trucks to be comming up and down the canyon. That way developers can do their rock crushing in places already developed for such operations, and those of us that live here in the valley won't have to pay the ultimate price. It's about time big bussiness finally have to make some sacrafices instead of our community.
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a great idea. Just take a look around at all of the piles of useless dirt that are lying around the valley, the rock crusher can be used to clean those up and recycle a waste product into something usefull. Plus it will save valley residents a trip down the canyon.
ReplyDeleteAll the valley residence think this needs to stay a quite little home town. No matter how hard yo try to keep it little or how bad you bitch it is going to be a little Park City one day. Just face the facts.
