Booth Permit Rescinded!
Yesterday, the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival Committee withdrew the booth permit for the Citizens’ Rights Group at the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival this weekend.
This was done two weeks after that same committee approved the Citzens’ Rights booth participation.
Our sources tell us that the Festival Committee received a call from an employee of Powder Mountain, Carolyn Daniels questioning if it was a good idea to have the Citizen’s Rights booth at the festival since Powder Mountain was going to also have a booth to sell season ski passes.
It should be noted that the Citizens’ Rights Committee had booths at both Huntsville and Liberty parks on the 4th of July without any issues.
It appears that all it took was a telephone call from a Powder Mountain employee to the Balloon Festival Committee for them to rescind the booth permit.
This permit revocation demonstrates again that Powder Mountain will stop at nothing to deny the citizens their voices
as well as their right to vote!
who makes up the festival committee
ReplyDeleteWhat do you expect? We have a Realtor Developer Governor, Lt. Governor, County Commissioners (2 of 3), and the OVBA plus the Festival Committee.
ReplyDeleteI suggest we all boycott both Powder Mountain AND Realtors by buying and selling only by owner and privately campaigning against season ticket sales AND daily use tickets at Powder Mountain.
Yes, and a boycott of the OVBA members on the Festival Committee, assuming there are some, would not be a bad idea either!
ReplyDeleteLet our economic power speak for us since no one in a position to help and represent us is willing to buck the Realtor Association money.
Grrrr,
ReplyDeleteI can’t determine who is more chicken sh--, Powder Mountain or the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival Committee. Now I get to boycott both Powder Mountain and the Ballon Fest. Not a big deal for me, Powder Mountain is lame hill and the Balloon Fest is a bad parking experience.
Arff!
This entire mess has been brought on by the self destructive actions of Powder Mountain and the Balloon Festival officials. Anyone can connect the dots from the contact from Powder Mountain to the Festival committee, and soon after, the last minute revocation of the booth for the Citzen's Rights Committee.
ReplyDeleteWe have heard that the Balloon Festival suddenly "discovered" Festival rules about no political activities at the event. Yeah Right! This was right after the apparent phone call from Powder Mountain.
ReplyDeleteStill, the Festival people could have said "We gave them a booth this year and we should honor that commitment since it was our error in not following our own rules."
Did they do that? Hell no!
I suggest carrying flyers with you (unless you boycott) at the Balloon Fest ... I for one have boycotted the Ballon Fest ever since Wolf Creek took it over ...
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous, go to the Balloon Festival web page at www.ogdenvalleyballoonfestival.com
ReplyDeleteand click on Contacts for a list of committee members. There are others like Steve Roberts of Wolf Creek and Carolyn Daniels of Powder Mountain but they aren't listed.
BOYCOTT POW-MOW DO NOT BY A PASS / LIKE THE DOWELS + JIM H. MOVE ON TO A REAL MOUNTAIN AND STOP SUPPORTING P.M. IN YOUR PIZZA STORE !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo KIDDING dont by a pow-mow pass ! why is it that the folks collecting money to fight P.M. are the first to by a pass from them ?????????????
ReplyDeleteThey were never going to give you guys a permit they just waited till the last second to tell you so you would not have a plan B . Who is running that group you all are like toothless pups / you are fighting a pit bull stop being so nice to P.M. and STOP SPENDING $ ON A POW SEASON PASS !
ReplyDeleteWhat's stopping this great, strong group of folks who resist Powder Mountain from plucking the signs that are currently in their yards and forming groups either at Wolf Mtn. during the supposed Balloon festivities or else where the balloons are launched. Why is everyone so afraid of Powder Mountain? But hey, keep being afraid and they will win! There will be a Powderville. Get off your rear ends and ATTACK the monster, POWDER MTN.
ReplyDeleteWOLF CRK. / POW-MOW / BALLOON FEST are all friends-bros-amigos you were not ever going to get a permit, they didnt like you yesterday-a week ago - a month ago - or a year ago. make your coffee a lot stronger in the morning!
ReplyDeleteI think that the citizens group is having a marvelous week or two! They had received the public relations boost from the sign stealers and now the Balloon Festival fiasco (Both, front page items).
ReplyDeleteIt may be that the newspaper coverage bonanza is even better than being at the Festival for the group. The sequence of events surrounding the Balloon Festival Committee actions exposed the dirty and heavy handed involvement of Powder Mountain. You could not buy a better public relations expose' to help the Citizens Group if you tried.
I think that group is doing fine,
BOYCOTT POW-MOW MEANS DO NOT BY A PASS AT POW-MOW - TIME TO WALK THE WALK - SAYING BOYCOTT POW-MOW AND SPENDING EVERY SEASON THERE LOOKS REAL STUPID!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I hear, many are not buying passes at Powder Mountain this year.
ReplyDeleteIf you mean somehow we should be able to stop all ticket sales, you are living in a fantasy world.
people have the right to decide for themselves on spending their money.
I mean if you do not like what powder mountain is doing do not go their . But many people doing the protesting will be at pow-mow as they are every year - BOYCOTT POW-MOW MEANS DONT GO TO POW-MOW.
ReplyDeletePeople who protest pow-mow should not have the right to spend their money their . But they do have the right to be called TO-FACED!
ReplyDeleteSIMPLE JUST DONT GO TO POW-MOW UNLESS YOU LIKE DIRTY LYING SKI RESORT OWNERS. IF YOU LIKE THEM GO TO POW-MOW AND BE PROUD!
ReplyDeleteI agree. It doesn't make sense to give your money to the one you are fighting against. I will not be skiing there again, nor any of my family and friends.
ReplyDeleteSo did the Dowell's and Jim H. really buy a season pass? And how does he support PM in his pizza store?
ReplyDeleteInquiring Minds, why don't you call them up and ask them? Or better yet, confront them in person?
